Kathy is a self taught visual and expressionist artist. Her love for art started as a teenager, and she eventually took up painting a few years later. Wanting to use art as an expressive and emotional outlet, she decided that abstract art was where she wanted to focus and take her creativity. She loves using color to represent energy and emotions.
Although she has southern roots, she now calls Chicagoland home. In addition to art, she has a passion for working with animals.
All current work is acrylic on canvas. She plans to eventually incorporate oils and resin into her work.
Appreciating the work of Jackson Pollack and Wassily Kandinsky, Kathy realized that abstract expressionism was exactly what she wanted to convey into her art. She draws her inspiration from love, positivity, passion, and music.
